High-Speed NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX Carrier Board
Challenge
Engineering a custom, cost-efficient carrier board for NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX / Nano modules to handle high-bandwidth data streams, while strictly optimizing the Bill of Materials (BOM).
Hardware Execution
Successfully routed high-speed PCIe Gen4 interfaces for NVMe SSD storage on standard, cost-effective FR-4 substrate. Achieved exceptional signal integrity and data transfer rates near PCIe Gen4 limits without relying on expensive, high-loss materials.
Firmware & Systems
Developed a robust system management architecture using an STM32 microcontroller for power sequencing and hardware monitoring, customized the low-level bootloader firmware, and deployed the core Embedded Linux environment along with custom application software.
Impact
Delivered a production-ready, highly optimized hardware platform that achieved a 50% reduction in production costs for volume manufacturing compared to off-the-shelf development kits.
